With the sun rising behind the castle, the foreground was in deep shadow. I used 2 exposures and blended them: Tamron 17-35 f2.8-4 at 17mm: for the sky: iso 400 (yes, I forgot to change it back from the other night :doh) f14 1 sec: for the castle f14 3.2 secs

No problem, this one's is 20 mins from me but I'll do some investegating and come up with a short list, did you see those pics of Corfe Castle??

Really cool castle. Love the colors. The compo is good - I really like the stone wall remains leading you through the image.
If you don't mind, here's an idea from my small mind: Either drop the camera a few inches in order to get rid of the "Modern" lights and complete the "old" feeling or raise it a few inches to include more lights and give it more of a juxtaposition take.

Yeah, I agree. Not sure what you don't like about the castle, Gubbs. :dunno The only thing I'm not crazy about is the city lights, sorta ruins the atmosphere. I guess you'll have to get up at 4am again. :evil

Phil, I agree! I have plans to go back as there's a few other angles I'd like to try too

Sunrise is about 7:30 at the moment...makes life a little easier :D
