Noticed fog moving in to the Jamaica Pond just outside Boston on a walk and went home to grab the camera. Started off with the Canon 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 and then switched to the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 as it got darker. All taken with the cloudy WB setting on the Canon 350D. Minimal PP after developing the RAW in C1 pro.
Greatly appreciate c/c.

Can't decide if this 'works' - motion of the ducks intentional as I still had the slow zoom on and decided to 'go for it' at f/8 and see what came out. This was the best of the bunch in that attempt.

I like the feel of the first 2. On #1 I would crop out part of the bottom (rule of 3rds) so that the focus is more on the island & geese(?). And I can't quite tell, but is there a person or something on the back side of the island. Maybe post larger versions of the verticals.

Thanks for the critiques.
I was worried that cropping the bottom would pull the island down to the middle of the frame. I was tempted to crop some of the top but stopped myself as I felt the tree would feel cramped.
No one on that very small island...just some swans in front.

Ahh! there are lights in the trees and on the left side. That is what I saw

Liked the first one best, gives one a real sense of the "aloneness" of the tree on the little island which the fog really supports. the fuzzy one (number 3) with question does not do it for me. The second with foggy shore line is nice. I like foggy morning/evening esp in a natural setting. Nice soft blue helps the mood of number two as well.
