importing video question

I created a DVD movie of my daughter's dance performances from her very young years using Pinnacle Studio 8.
How do I take a clip from that DVD and format it to be uploaded to SM?
I no longer have the raw footage on my computer... just the finished DVD... on disk...

Question...I could not find this and could not get the FX MPG Writer to work... how do I upload video directly from a DVD I've recorded? I got it to work using analog video imported and then converted, but not digital from DVD...
