Does it work plain, or should I go with one of the variations?

I have no idea. Send the iPod to me, and I will let you know. At this point all I can see is the green with envy aura around me.

Maybe later, I will settle with an opinion.

How do you like it? Did Santa bring it? Were you better last year than I was?
When will it get here?

Smile, ginger

Oh, I can't hear it. Could you turn it up a bit. I assume it does everything.:D

I like the first one. The only thing I might work on is correcting the barrel distortion on the building, so that the walls looks straight. Leaning back, maybe, since that is the perspective, but they look bowed. Don't ask me how to do that, though. I have no idea.

I really, really like this entry. Clean, clear, well thought out and cool. Nice job.

I really like it, although I haven't put any photos on yet :lol3

Yes Santa did bring it and no I wasn't better than you this year. Must have been a paper work oversite on Santa's part. :dunno

Thank you, Cletus, but you missed my last question.

Plain, the first one. The B&W fx are distracting. And the blurred image spoils the point of the thing, which is that the real building is blurry and the reproduction is sharp. Definitely the first one.

I feel like I would be comparing apples and oranges. To me they are all the same photo except one is larger.

I think the feedback would be better if they were all the same size, just my oh so humble opinion.

ginger (I figured out Kelby's collage instructions!) On the last thread, kind of controversial.

David,

When I first read your post I thought "that's easy, I can just run the Spherize filter with a small negative amount to clean up the distortion." It didn't quite work out that way... I think it might just be easier to pick a new image to use for the background/display :lol3

Straight up. the First one is by far the best. All the other variations take away from the cool effect of having a picture in a picture, over emphasis is not a good thing. Or at least to my eye, I really jumped at the first one. I see a winner there :thumb

crap, back to drawing board! this first person thing is hard!

Yes, now I can see the variations better. I agree with everyone, I prefer the first one.

Nothing special, afternoon light through an east facing window. I did have a piece of white foam core for a background, but I don't think it contributed to the lighting.

I agree, the first one is best. Clear, sharp, bright. Great lighting on the hand. I like that the actual scene is in the background. It's not just any picture on the ipod. It really shows that you are there, in the scene so to speak. So very "first person". Great job!
