My sister tells me my smugmug site won't work right in IE on her PC, but works ok in FF. I have a Mac, and everything works fine for me...
Any thoughts on what might be causing the problem?

I am guessing it's an older version of IE, works ok for me on IE7 - anybody else have feedback who is on a PC?

Al
FYI
I'm getting this error with FF Firebug. Have no idea what it means
NBmouseover is not defined
Which points to line 1
1 (http://www.dgrin.com/)<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
Strickly off subject.
Reminds me of a Tv commerical.
Have no idea what it means, but I wont one.

Interesting...
Was this on my smugmug page or on another linked page in my nav bar? Because I didn't put such code in my smugmug page, but I am pretty sure it does exist in my other pages. So it would have to have been generated by smugmug.
Another friend cited errors with IE as well. But as I said, IE7 works fabulous. I have added a message encouraging FF or IE7.

Hi,
1) you have tons of stuff in your HEAD tag, nothing really should go there.
2) you are linking stuff from your .mac pages, maybe it's there?
3) your banner is transparent, so it needs a transparency fix for IE.
Barb and Ivar our customizing specialists will work with you over the next days to get things sorted the SmugMug way :D

Well, if that's all it is, I can live without it. :)
Edit: took it out - can someone look again and see if it fixed the problem?

Hi,
1) you have tons of stuff in your HEAD tag, nothing really should go there.
Why is it available then? I don't see why I can't put things there. They can exist there in any other web page. :huh
2) you are linking stuff from your .mac pages, maybe it's there?
As I have said before, the rest of my site was created in iWeb, which produces a whole folder full of crap for each page in my site unfortunately, so that stuff all needs to be linked to, no way I am going to go through everything and re-do it with the images, js, and css hosted elsewhere. :nah Sorry, I am stubborn! :D
At any rate, iWeb pages notoriously do not get along well with IE6... so yeah, that probably is where the problem lies unfortunately.

I believe the transparency fix is built into the js on .Mac :wink

ok, but if you're going to stick to your guns, watch who you're saying is putting what where. :deal

That type of code exists in the html of my other pages, but I did not copy and paste it into the smugmug header or footer boxes.
It also exists on pretty much any web page that exists. This forum, for example:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Something in those remote scripts is what keeps crashing IE6.

I do, but its frustrating because it looks PERFECT in FF and IE7 :dunno so I hate to mess with it.
In order to make my navigation work properly and look the same as the rest of my site, I need the css and js from .Mac.
What would the solution be? Cut and paste relevant css and js into the customize boxes on smugmug rather than referencing them in <head>?
Barb and Ivar already emailed with me a few times when I started out and told me to come here. :confused

I was just going by what somebody said was causing the error in line 1 :dunno

Your JS and CSS would all reside on SmugMug. Barb and Ivar can help, you just have to say the word. They'll be along soon enough.

word :huh
Actually, that's what I did initially - put the js and css in the boxes on the customize page. Will that work better?

OK, I put my js and css in the control panel/customize boxes, and all of my images are being hosted on smugmug.
Can someone look again on IE6?
Thanks.
