interesting shot. The exposure on the rifle barrel is spot on! Did they say why they didn't want you photographing the actual faces? Are the armed guards typical or are they there due to the recent political unrest?

Recent? Nepal has been politically unstable for years.
Love the shot. Well composed, well lit. Good eye.

No photographing them at all -- they don't want weapon information, faces & any photos of armed guards floating around... This officer was nice enough to let me shoot his photo but I did experience another officer later that day who made it VERY clear I wasn't to take any photos of them. The Armed Police are typical since the Maoists (F'n $#@@*&^#$ - if you ask me) decided to start trouble.

Nice shot, nice 7.62mm SLR.
Same rifle isued to me at recruits 20 years ago. Heavy as, 30 round mag and lots of stopping power. Good thing you did as they said because I would care to be looking down the barrel of one.
