I wonder if that will get Canon to lower their 1DsII price?

Awesome camera, and better price than I had thought. I'm still happy with my D2H & D70 combo. I'd still like to see the D100 upgrade sometime soon.
Thanks for the info.

It's sort of a 'tweener, at 12mp compared to 16. :dunno

No FF either. The 1Ds mkII is still in its own class, someone needs to create a competing camera first.
If anything I would think it might push down the price of the 1DmkII. :dunno Did Nikon post some real samples? I hope they can create files that looks as good as Canon's at high ISOs.

At 12.4MP it is not full frame? I thought it was!
I did pay with the camera at CES last weekend. The Nikon guy asked me tons of questions about what I would want to see in the software. I feel this camera will take use of the software the way Windows makes use of the registry.

They should make it with a full size sensor!

• Full size image: 1.5x field of view crop
• High speed cropped: 2.0x field of view crop
23.7 x 15.7 mm CMOS sensor
I wonder if they have redesigned the viewfinder to have a larger visual image, as you would see with a standard 35mm camera, not just a cropped image?
