Playing with smart filters (USM) and new Black and White adjustment layer.
The latter allows for rather intuitive and agressive b/w conversions.

In this case I almost got IR effect out of the plain vanilla color shot:

Indeed, it has promise. Not for the infrared effect, although I admit, it's not *horrible* and could be a decent starting point for Faux-IR.

I think this will help lots of folks to achieve better black and white. Nice Job, Adobe.

Sure the real IR looks beat the faux one hands down. And the whole point was, as you commented, that the new PS provides for better and easier BW ever:-) :thumb
