I live near Kew Bridge Steam Museum. Its an old water pumping station & has lots of old pump engines & Cornish beam engines. They're huge!

Here's a pic of one of the huge beam engines. I haven't a chance to upload any of the others. Its ineligble as it was taken about a month ago, but thinking of going for a reshoot if I can.

What do you reckon?

Like the idea. Try to compose a shot to emphasize the 'hugeness'. This image gives me no clue as to size.

Apparently you can hold weddings here & they fire up the Cornish Beam Engine for you!

I think going back for a reshoot would be good. Adding more context and scale to the subject woul help connect to what we're looking at. good work!

Very nice. As others have noted we need to relationship to scale.
What is, or used for, a Cornish Beam Engine??

Here's a link to the museum giving a descrition of the beam engines:

http://www.kbsm.org/engines/

You can see the part that I took a close up from. The big eyelet screw heads are level with my face & I"m 5'3". But that is just one of the bases for the uprights which tower above you into the top of the tower. These are attached to a balance arm which moves up & down, pumping the water.

I only have 2 standard kit lenses. Any suggestions as to how I can get these to show the whole height as there are floors inbetween 7 you can't see right up to the tp, but have to go up a flight of stairs. I thought of a collage.

The beam engine is in the tall tower.
