I am one of those here who do like blk and white photography, but I don't usually do things that I consider blk and white material. A few weeks ago, I started a "series" of landscapes on Shem Creek, in black and white. I chose ones that I thought were good in color, and I tried them in blk and white. To my surprise, I liked them. Sometimes I did not know which I liked better.

I did not always get to black and white, sometimes I toned a landscape. This one here is in my mind as I took it last week, and I worked it up yesterday 1/02. I got to a yucky color sepia, and my whole body quivered, I went further, went back, decided to stay with the sepia ish color. That is why I am calling my thread, Colors.......blk and white are colors, in my mind. I am going to try to be open minded about the possibilities of traditionally color subjects, such as sunsets, a convenient time of day for me, but they are in my mind color shots. I am converting them. If I like them, I will share the before and afters...........

This is Sullivan's Island, SC. It is as familiar to me as NYC is to Andy.......
Many of my photographs come from this area.

Not getting to see many sunsets over water, I am a real sucker for the great colors that they are. Love it in color, like it in sepia. The sepia has such a completely different feel to it - ominous, almost!
