Any thoughts on this first person shot. A view through my world of nearsightedness.

Don't need them yet!!
Does anyone think this qualifies as a "first person" submission?

Absolutely. I think of first person as a pic that seems to be through your eyes...and I would say this definately applies. Very cool idea, and well shot. :thumb

Thanks for the feedback. What cracks me up about this photo is that my wife was finally able to see how blurry the world is to me without my glasses!:rofl

Wow, that's an interesting shot, seeing the world through your eye "addons"! :thumb
*wood-knocking* I'm happy not to need glasses myself.

I also like your crop with cutting the left glass. I think I wouldn't have centered the sun, but I guess that's just a matter of taste and it works great.

Bye,

Mitch,

I really like the concept and the implementation! (I was actually toying with a "through the glasses" POV myself - except I was trying to catch a view with my wide angle lens that included eyelash and bridge of nose - failed miserably.) I didn't think of using the differential focus the way you did.

Maybe you could give it even more of a "first-person" POV by including your hands (or one hand) holding the frame - even if hands are OOF i'm thinking it might be effective.

I thought of a "thru the lens" type of thing, but had no clue how to do it. You did a masterful job. Maybe you could tell us how you did it. Great shot!

Thank you for the kind words. The taking of this picture was embarassingly simple (considering the planning that usually goes into my pictures). I was sitting at the beach and enjoying the sunset with my kids. I had been agonizing over what to do for the first person challenge. Suddenly, it hit me that first person for me is my view through my glasses. I held up my glasses with my left hand, put the focus on infinity, and took the picture with my right hand.
That is why I love these challenges. When would I have ever thought to do this before!
Hope this helps.
