I was having some serious issues with this pic. Due to the way the F717/R72 took the pic, I had some serious banding issues in the sky that oddly got worse the more smoothing/noise reduction/blur I tried. So, I decided to go with more noise. Your thoughts?

I really like the colors of the first one! Really, really like it! The simplicity of this shot if very appealing too. Very nice!

I like the first one better; the contrast beteen the tree edges and sky in the second one make it look less natural (not the it looks very natural, anyway:D).

Perhaps it only shows up in larger versions, but I don't see the problem in the first version. :dunno I like the darker sky more, but both are very good. :thumb I do agree with pug that the shapening halos in the second version are a bit excessive.

Yes, the banding is only really visible in 50-100% viewing. I do like the original "colors" myself. I'll try to do the best of both. Those aren't actually sharpening halos, just the boundary between the B&W tree mask and the colored sky mask. Thanks for looking, guys.
