I still don't believe that I won *something*, much less believe that the something is a 1D MK II. What a great way to start the year!
It was a giveaway between Roberts Distributing and DPhoto.US.

Still jumping up and down here.

Good doG, Olga, I thought this thread was a joke or something. It is real????
People do win cars, so maybe a great camera is possible? Congrats! What a way to start the New Year, the one I am not acknowledging (sp?).
I won a small skinny turkey once a very long time ago. I think that some of us only get one win. Sometimes I curse that turkey. Smile.
Ginger, am very happy for you.

:clap That's fantastic, Olga! And to think, there's 364 more days left for other good things to happen too.
Perhaps winning some lenses are next?

Amazing part was that there was no entry. Anyone registered at the site was automatically entered.

LOL! Believe me, lenses is the last thing I need. What I really need is the strength to hold a camera that heavy. That, unfortunately, is nothing I can win or buy.

Good gracious, what a wonderful way to begin the new year! Congratulations! If it's too heavy for you, you can always sell it, get a 20D and some lenses.

If it proves too heavy, I'd be happy to buy it off of you with at least enough money to get the 20D instead. I've been shopping for a 1 D MKII, and expect to be getting the money for it very soon (within 2 weeks). I would love to be able to find one at less than the retail price... I am not asking you to part with something you can use, but if you find you can't use it... I would love to oppurtunity to save some money on it. If I gave you say...$2000 for it, that would cover the cost of the 20D and a lens or two or some other accessories. You'd still have come out ahead of the game, and I'd have made a great deal on my end!
Oh..btw, in case you haven't noticed...I am always shameless in asking for what I want.. Please don't be offended if you feel my offer isn't fair.. I'm just one of those people that believes in hoping that wishful thinking can pay off from time to time. Either way, if you can't use it, drop me an e-mail, I'd love to discuss the matter with you.

WTG Olga!! :clap :clap :clap Wow, a new 1D Mk II, from a contest you really didn't even have to enter. How unexpected is that?......lol As you wrote, what a super way to start off the New Year :wink
Now you have another body. So your 20D can be your tele body and the Mk II your wide body (or wider body). Even if you have to mono, or tri, pod the beast I'm sure it will bring you great joy. I mean, just shooting in continuous and firing off 40+ shots would thrill me for months....lol (yes, I'm easily amused :lol )
Congrats to you Olga and I hope you really enjoy your prize :thumb

Congratulations Olga. I bet you can get someone to follow you around carrying the camera so you only have to lift it when you are ready to shoot. At least I hope so. :rofl

It ain't camera gear but I am also jumping up and down!! I had a Royal straight flush at Foxwoods Casino which is fairly rare. Rare enough so getting one also gets you a Foxwoods Poker Room jacket. I was pretty excited as I had never in my life had a royal flush and in fact had only seen one once. Now imagine my excitement when a couple of hours later I got another royal flush!!! The staff said they had never seen someone get two in one night!!! Yes!!!!

Charles,
I'd strongly advise you to go buy a lottery ticket today :wink You can use your double royal flash winnings :rofl
Seriously, congratulaions :clap When you consider the odds, 2 royal flushes in one day, or night, is simply amazing.

I should probably do as you say. The odds for powerball are about the same. I did go over to the Guinness Book of World Records web page and filed a claim. What the heck, the casino has it documented and maybe nobody did it before.
