Google Image search & smugmug

I'm finding that there's no way my images come up in google image search, even when I use my keywords, domain name, etc.(my site comes up easy, right on top of a google.search on my business name) But if I have pictures of "tigers" on the site I hope to sell, I'd like to come up if someone image searches "tigers" in a search engine.

WHy is this???

Does "protecting" the images from download effect the image searching?

Is google searching captions/keywords on the webpage, or something "embedded" in the image file like a tag?

If I'm protecting the image on smugmug, does google even see it as an image????

skProtection does not stop Google Image search. Patience, keywording, blogging, cross-linking, getting linked by other sites, those will all help.
