When shooting works of art, I usually try to create something new, sometimes by getting up close and focusing on a small part of the piece. Here are a couple of examples:

Hope you like them. C&C always welcome.

Very cool, Richard. I especially like the 2nd one. It kinda plays mind games with you when you stare at it long enough! I would be tempted to try B&W on this one, but I think the tiny bit of color keeps it from being too abstract. Not sure I said what I meant here, but the color somehow works for me. :saurora

The second one reminds me of an MC Escher print. Hard to determine which side is up and very hard to stop looking at once you start examining it. Very cool.

I get dizzy and need to sit down when I look at the second shot.
BTW I like getting dizzy and sitting down.
Good shooting as usual Richard.

Good shots :thumb

I must admit that most modern art leaves me - to quote your title :wink - slightly bemused - but your shots work well as abstracts. As others have said, the level of detail in the second is great.
