Have you made a banner yet? If so, link us to it on your website.

What are the specific questions/troubles you are having?

We'll help!

I like the one you now have in the site file gallery. It could be used
but it has way too much white space.

Use this one for your banner now and you can always replace it later.

Okay :D

Make a new document, 800px by 125px high. Put in your text that you want. Yours would look good as a transparent png, so follow along with these directions that we have for making a watermark- it's the SAME concept but you'll be making a header. When done, upload to your gallery and tell us where it is.

remember, use this tutorial, but make the document 800px by 125px high :)

OK, you now have a banner. http://magicpicp.smugmug.com/

It's not a transparent png though. If you can make a transparent png, that banner would then work with most any theme you chose. For now, you can pick white background, and the banner would look good. Do you like it?

OK Magic - it's on the page because I did it for you :D

Your page is back to black with the white banner.

To make a transparent png you have to follow very carefully the tutorial I gave you, being very careful to be sure you save the file as a transparent png. when you have done that, upload it to the very same gallery, and then let us know it's done. I'll set you up with the code needed. OK?

You are using a GALLERY link not a photo link.

A photo link is like this:

http://magicpicp.smugmug.com/photos/113910659-O.png

Please follow the Tuturial instructions exactly there are really well done but you must follow them exactly and don't take any shortcuts. Thanks.

OH - how to get the links: http://www.smugmug.com/help/picture-sharing

click on "share with forums and blogs" :)

See, this will be very hard if you keep undoing the help I give you, like the code I put in last night :D

THIS is the code, I've put it on your site:

IGNORE THE YELLOW ASTERISK

#my_banner {display: block; margin: 0 auto; width: 800px; height: 125px; background: url(http://magicpicp.smugmug.com/photos/113910659-O.png) no-repeat; _background: none;

I fixed your code again. You had 'display:none' which is no good.

Please, please please don't erase what we've done.

Please don't write the help desk AND post here. It causes us to have duplicate help efforts, and that's bad. We will do ALL your customizing help here on Dgrin.
