Hey Dgrinners,

I made it down to Monterey for a couple hours. No one could go with me...so I did the short trip alone. Well worth it. I didn't have to wait for anyone but myself, but it would have been nice to share my enjoyment and excitement with someone. Anyway...the light was tough. I'm not sure if anyone shoots a lot in aqariums. What do you use? I pretty sure you don't go in there and flash the fishies to death, since it probably has a reflection and the fish do not like it. I used my 50mm 1.8 and my 24-135mm 3.5-5.6 for the outside shots. These are some of my favorites...more on my website.

Lovely series of images.

I agree, aquariums are always very dark. I tend to use a 50mm f1.4 or an 85mm f1.8 for most of my aquarium shots.

I think you've done well. Fast lens, higher ISO for me.

Did you see the glass jellies?

I saw the glass exhibit too back in July, and also tried to take some interesting photos.

We visited over the Thanksgiving holiday. My wife and son were enthralled by the jellyfish exhibit.

Thanks for your comments everyone!

Nice pic Molson. I got some similar but with the Sun Fish in the back. I wished I would have stepped back a bit. It was spur of the moment and not really planned and it's a bit soft. It sure does show how big the guy was. 500 lbs or something?
