Well, my friends.
I started to make my first steps in the world of flash photography...
Its very interesting and not-so-easy...

Again, Interesting to know your thoughts about them.
I used two flashes - 150 and 300 W with softbox and umbrella...

Spasibo,
Yuri

They look like they were shot with window light.

For me, that isn't desirable - I would just use a window!

I am no light guru, but I to my eyes your lighting is very good! As Owen said, it looks like you used light from a window - and I know that getting natural-looking light from an unnatural source is very difficult. I think you did a wonderful job and I think the b/w conversion is wonderfully textural without taking away from the model's beauty. :clap

Where do you find these girls, Yuri. She must stop traffic in Moscow!!

The color balance in the first image is lovely with her blonde hair against that pale, blue background.

The first B&W is lovelyl as well. I miss seeing a little more of the top of her head, but the soft lighting is up to your usual standards.

The crop of the third image is not really working that well for me - she seems too crowded on the viewer's left. Colors are nice and soft.

The last image - the second B&W - looks like it was created from the blue channel in channel mixer - Her skin looks coarser and rougher and her lips look drier. Not my favorite of these four images.

The lighting is very nicely done - nothing would trip to me think these were shot with artificial light.

Window light is fine, but I suspect the days are getting rather short about now, aren't they, Yuri??

Winter is coming in the northern hemisphere.

The general lighting especialy the skin tones is great!

The only exception would be her eyes. Clean up the eyes, I can see the umbrella I think.

I like number 2 the duotone, the best.

:huh
Cleaning up the eyes, IMO, isn't needed at all.
