Now the main event, I tried a few panning at a slower shutter speed, with quite sad results so the backgrounds could be better I know!

All these are straight off the camera and definitely need some 'pop' but I wanted to get in early :D .
I may post a few more after I've had a chance to straighten and neat'in up a few.
Any critique or comments are always appreciated.

Nice shots, it ain't as straight forward and easy as you think it should be. The buildings in the background certainly don't help. I couldn't face the idea of 300 thousand people being there on the foreshore so i went for a ride up to Dongara.

You did very well considering the distances/speeds & light mate. I was even giving thought to using some fly points to get over there to shoot it. Not often an event like that appears.

Cheers Ed, yes Sunday was absolute madness but the days leading up were all good for shooting, well worth a look see - so close, so fast and so maneuverable.

Hey Gus, distances were spot on for about 400mm, lighting changed from very overcast to bright blue skies so it wasn't too bad.
If you're considering coming next year look me up:thumb

cheers wxwax, I have sooooo many shots like that from 3 days of shooting!
I'm still sorting through them trying to find the ones that stand out. I will do a follow up post later in the week with a few more.
