I find that here
http://digital-finger.smugmug.com/gallery/1589085
when I try to add watermarking it says all images are processing --but-- they have been uploaded for ages (months)

is that normal - or am I doing something wrong ( as usual?)

Hi Simon,

That is normal. It is processing the watermark. It takes a little while, but all the photos in the gallery will eventually be watermarked.

But I hadn't got round to watermarking THAT gallery!

Was it because the other galleries were watermarking?

When you upload photos, we create 5 other sizes from that photo (Th, Ti, S, M, L)

When you later watermark those photos, we have to create new photos from the original, but this time with the watermark. While the system is doing that, it will show as 'processing image'.

I hope this helps.

OK I don't think I have explained properly

The gallery in question has not been set to newly watermark

ALL the photos in that gallery have been there with no new commands for at least a month

Just checked (next day here) and it STILL says 'processing image' for ALL images when I go to the watermarking page, and this is BEFORE I have asked it to watermark:scratch

Any watermarks already on that gallery are there from over month ago
BTW it's not the browser cache I have opened in different browser today

Is it time to PANIC yet?

Okay, now I see what you are referring to. Going to this gallery:

http://digital-finger.smugmug.com/gallery/1589085

Photo tools --> Watermarking

All the photos still show processing. And it has shown that way for some time, right?

Hi Simon,

You might try going to that gallery, select all, and then remove the watermark. See if that will clear it up. You can then go back in and try to watermark them again. It seems there was some sort of system glitch ... odd ... if that does not take care of it, I would suggest you email support:

http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal

If the problem persists, an email to support will make it to the engineers quickly.

OK will do - problem persists:dunno

Screen shots of problem on last page of gallery:
here (http://digital-finger.smugmug.com/gallery/1589085/7):
No watermarking (http://digital-finger.smugmug.com/gallery/1589085/7/110970754)

ONE of those pics will allow the watermarking facility the others will not

I can answer one of your questions. The newly added photos are too small. They have to be larger than the Large viewing size in order to add a watermark. If they are not, the watermarking feature is removed from "photo tools". Check the difference between these photos:
http://digital-finger.smugmug.com/gallery/1589085/6/95995551
and this one:
http://digital-finger.smugmug.com/gallery/1589085/7/110943113
Notice the difference in the resolution. If the photo is less than 800px x 600px, we won't give you the option to add a watermark.
As for the "processing image" image... We'll I'm going to have to give that to an engineer. I don't have the answer.

Simon, I don't have an answer for you. One thing I can suggest. Try watermarking (or un-watermarking) all the files in the gallery. That will regenerate thumbs.

I did already try that before didn't work then but I suppose I can try it again

EDIT: tried again- no change

What are we saying, it can't be fixed?:scratch

Over 2 weeks - I presume they're dead in the water then?

I need to know whether it's being worked on, in line to be worked on, or not likely to ever be solved - I tried moving them ,redoing them ,undoing them, reredoing them, reundoing them etc..

Does this mean I should reupload any keepers out of that lot or not?
