LAShooters had a group outing for a night shot. We got there for the sunset then shot some more after the sky darkened.

Great shots, Tom. Love that wide angle... some day I'll spring for one.

Nice capturing the domes with the city ights, I don't think my timing/exposure was right for that... I'll have to try again.

Yea, I have a 17-50 as well, but on a crop it's just not wide enough for a venue like this. I stuck mostly with the Sigma 10-20, pretty much on 10mm. The other option is to go long and pick out details with either a 100mm macro or a 70-200 I guess.

I was looking for details, and didn't find that much that was interesting to me. I took one shot of a window frame with the setting sun, but it was so-so.

I posted in Chris' thread, too. Just signed up with the LA Shooters (as you know!).

Nice shots. You inspired me to sign up. :D

yea, I take Moonie with me from time to time to lighten things up a bit and as a fun photo project. I wish he was posable so I can place him in different poses, but oh well.

The last shot is compositionally really well done. It's a little tough for me to to tell if there is too mcuh sky at the top as the pictures run into each other.

Good stuff.
