I've got some wonkiness I've never seen before and couldn't find in a search.

My problem is I'm adding in keywords and Captions using Breezebrowser. I then go to upload the photo using either Star Explorer or just the drag and drop from Smugmug, and it does not show any of the info (Caption is blank and only the original keywords are on the photo, none of the new ones.)

Here's a screen shot before upload (I've also checked in Photoshop and it sees all the keywords).

And here's the photo with no keywords or caption

I know it's gotta be something simple that I'm missing. I've used this same method in the past (about a year ago probably) and it worked like a charm.

I'd assume it's a problem with the way Breezebrowser is handling the IPTC data, but when I go to view it in Photoshop, it's all there just fine, so I'm a bit confused.

thanks in advance for any help

Hi,

Take the same photo, add the same metadata via photoshop, do a Save As, and save it. Upload to SmugMug. Share the link? :ear

Man, I wish I could take the same photos as it was my wife who went on the trip. :wink

I used the same photo, opened it in PS, did a save as and uploaded it the same way (Star Explorer).
Here's the link http://images.hiddencreekphoto.com/gallery/2119406/1/109655007

Interesting thing I noticed is the " changed to &quot after the same as.

I know I should know what this means, but I can't figure it out completely

thanks for the help. Might just be something Breezebrowser is doing differently. In the past this wasn't a problem with uploads like http://images.hiddencreekphoto.com/gallery/646189/1/42780279

Ok, I figured it out. there is a new checkbox in BB that states "Also store IPTC data in legacy IPTC IIM format"
with that checked, things work perfectly.

pwc,

For what it's worth, if you ever edit captions/keywords on SmugMug and want to get that "new" metadata back to your local machine, I wrote a little tool (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=47160) that does just that.

Good find re BreezeBrowser. Thanks for sharing the magic option. :D
