I recently started using Google Analytics as a stats tracker for my smugmug page. It works wondefully.

Anyone else using it?

Anyone else using it?Yep, lots of smugmuggers use it actually, we even have a tutorial on how to implement it: http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/1092794 :thumb

Hi,

Any tips on how to track where people go once they enter our page ? Google Analytics has goal conversion, but where can I put the code to track how many people entered the Cart ? Any clue ? :wink

Thank you !!!
Celso.

Anyone else using it?Like many here, I'm using StatCounter (http://www.statcounter.com/).

I tried Google Analytics but found its reporting very convoluted for my purposes. With StatCounter I go directly to the (project name) > Recent Visitor Activity function and see a concise summary of who's been looking, from where, when and how many pages, and then I dive deeper as appropriate.

With Google Analytics, I found there was all manner of extraneous (to me) information available but no way I could see to access the data I could get from StatCounter so easily and so concisely. The big advantage seemed to be unlimited reporting at no cost vs. a 100 page view history for StatCounter without incurring a monthly fee.

If that comparison is no longer valid, perhaps someone else will update us. Of course, my comments are just based on my assessment against my needs, which may be untypical.

I'd love to be able to see this as well. I've tried just about everything I could think of - but it seems that there needs to be code on the smugmug cart page itself. :(

Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone have any ideas? Get statcounter, it tracks every click
on your pages. Cart switches to a SmugMug page so they won't be tracked.

What a pitty. The beauty of Google Analytics is that it tells you the pages that led the person to your cart and how many people entered the cart. But you would need to add a piece of code on the cart page. If that's not accessible to us then it really looks like it can not be done... Unless someone has a more creative idea....

Is it possible to use both counters? I currently use Google Analytics ... can both be used to reference results of each?
