San Diego skyline panorama

I was amazed at the sheer amount of detail present in agunther's Machu Picchu image that he posted a few weeks ago, here (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=45521). After reading Andre's tutorial :thumb on creating high resolution panoramas, I headed down to Coronado island this weekend to try a skyline shot of San Diego. This is the result of a 2x15 image panoramo from my 350D with 70-200 @ 200mm. The final resolution is a little over 130 megapixels.

Exposure: ISO 400, f/11, 10s.

Hi Andrew........ these scaled down images for the net never do the original justice do they.

The sewing lookings pretty good, but the image looks hazey???
....Okay I just looked at the larger image, and it looks much better :thumb

Yep that link to the larger image shows it much clearer, you'd be pretty darn proud of the result I bet :D a really nice image you have there Andrew ........thanks for sharing........ Skippy (Australia)

It was a very muggy evening with a lot of moisture hanging in the air. I will be back to try again on a clear night. Sharpness of the individual images is not too good either - there was a brisk wind that ended up causing vibrations even with the tripod weighted down, but I guess its not completely unexpected to need a more stable platform when using a 200mm lens in place of what would previously have been a 17mm.

What a great city to photograph....I'm going reading now...this is done very well.

There are a total of 30 component images 2 high, 15 wide.
