36 hours of labor followed by a C-section, hospital bills mounting and a man who would rather pay for booze than antibiotics.

Great story too. It should make men realize what women go through to bear children. Makes me appreciate it too. I'm glad I live in a very modern country.

I like the angle of your shot. You did a nice job with the serious mood of it. It doesn't have the joyous look that most birth pictures have. It really tells the story that you told.

She may have her worries but make no mistake the joy is there deep and abiding love and joy. Look at her face as he feeds. His name is Lance.

There is much to be said for families that gather round. The mother and her sister were orphans early in life but their greatest joy is bringing new life into the world. Here the nephew feels his auntie's belly for the kicking of his cousin to be.

Your ability to relate with those people and tell their story is just amazing!

On the first shot, the mother's tired look is incredible, it's something hard to describe... It's almost as if she knew that, despite all the hardships, things aren't really bad because her baby was born. It's just great!

Thanks so much for sharing!
Take care!

Thank you very much for your kind words. Actually, I forsee a future where the father will bail and this womaen and baby will move to our house in Cebu. We will take care of them and she will help to clean. Her son will play with our children yet to be born. Somehow I see this future. Maybe a true vision. Maybe not.

Here she is with my Arceli 2 weeks before.
