Went hiking there today. What a place! A shot every 10 feet. But, with the contast of the shade and light, a single exposure shot is darn near impossible! I'm going back before the fall colors disappear with a trippod so I can do multiple exposures and merge them

Which trail did you hike?
This is one of my favorite places and I cannot wait to go back and shoot again.

Great shots, AZ...
The first is probably my favorite, but the overexposure at the top is quite distracting. The last photo isn't quite as overexposed, but it loses the deep reds that the first photo has...looks like it was one of those days with tough light that never seems quite right. You did a great job regardless! Happy shooting,

I don't remember the exact names. Went down the first one started with a G, hiked through the bridge, and came up the Ann trail. Was also with my 11 year old daughter, who was having a blast. Would like to continue hiking up the little canyon on the Pine trail.

Right now, with the fall colors, the place is just exploding with color. But as you can see from the shots, way beyond the dynamic range of the camera to try to capture everything correctly.

I'd almost like to go this week when there is less people, but probably will go back at least this Saturday or Sunday with a tripod. We should meet up!

I'll be in Sedona and Oak Creek shooting this weekend. Wanna meet there?

I might be able to make it up one day - do you know what your schedule will be, where you'll be shooting?
