Great set, Aaron. Nice bright and clear shots, and great compositions.

Looks like a nice zoo with good lighting, which seems rare for zoos. Was there any glass or screen between you and the animals? I might have to take a day-trip with the fambly.

Thanks and regards,
-joel

Joel-

Thanks for the comments.

None of these animals have obstructed views, just a short wall to shoot over. The zoo is pretty nice, the lighting was actually very bright so I had to mess with exposure a lot! The orangatangs have a shade screen above them to help soften the AZ sun and the little monkey was actually in a shaded area.

The weather is finally getting nice down in the valley so a road trip from Kingman would be good for you. On your way there is the wildlife zoo in Glendale- haven't been there yet myself but heard it is nice.

Let me know if you venture down- it would be nice to meet a fellow dgrinner.

Thanks for the info, Aaron. The Wildlife park sounds very interesting too. Here's their website: http://www.wildlifeworld.com/

I'll definitely get in touch when we go to either place. Be forewarned, I'll have two 5 y/o monsters in tow. :yikes

Cheers,
-joel

You definitely had the cuteness factor working in those shots. I love number one!

I was there in April right after the baby was born also. I wonder how many people have pictures of this little one.

You did great in the harsh lighting that we tend to have here. I especially like the first one.

If you would like me to remove my photo from your post, please let me know and I will do. :thumb

What do you all think about a Az meet up. I don't think one has been done yet.

What area are you located in? This could be arranged I'm sure. I wonder how many others there are on this board that are in the area. Maybe we should put a post up? Send me a PM if that is something that you would be interested in. I am just getting settled into a new house, so I am not checking in here as much as normal, but I will try.

Hey! I'm from Everett originally. I sure miss the green up there. I don't miss the rain though. :D What brought you to Phoenix??

Just a visit with some friends.

I've lived in both Phoenix area and So Cal, however, I've been in the Northwest for about the last 14 years and I love it. I wouldn't mind having a winter place down south though. The weather differences between AZ and WA certainly explain the annual migration of snowbirds between the two states, eh?
