beautiuous aye....although the house is almost a distraction here. Either want to see more or none of it. Very nice DOF....makes the rocks a natural focus point...moving up to that excellent sky. Yea for this shot.

Nice scene and it's well shot, the eye moves nicely from the foreground out to the horizon and the exposure is really pretty. I agree with doug about the house, and am also bothered by the rocks on the far right. Seems like you tried to frame everything and ended up missing them both by a smidge.

Excellent shot!:thumb
Where are those house movers when you need them?

The rocks on the right don't bother me as they lead towards the horizon....they seem to flow with the overall look. Now the house, that's a different story. Sometimes homes or cabins work very well for perspective or point of referrence but I think on this occasion not as much. Even with the house in the shot it is still beautiful. Well done.

Lovely shot, I too however find the house distracting.

I'm with TO, I disagree with all the composition comments - a great wide-angle shot.
My only one comment is more of a question: you definitely used a tripod with that exposure, so I see a slight softness. Or maybe not so much softness but maybe I'd want to see a little more sharpness. Did you do any sharpening in post? Seems that is one tough aspect for very wide lenses - they suffer just a tad with sharpness.
Also, I'm very interested in that particular lens.

Many thanks for the comments with regard to the shot :)
As for sharpening what is posted here is the obviously the JPEG of the shot, looking at the full size version it has got sharpness to it after I applied some "test USM to the TIFF.
I think I deliberately didn't over sharpen the shot on JPEG compression as it wouldn't look right on the Post Process for some reason.
As regards to the 10mm-20mm its a great little lens for shots of this nature and I can't fault it really, but now more so than ever I am just tending to use a Tokina AF 17mm f/3.5 AT-X Pro that I picked up off Ebay for just £190.
It's a whole lot better than the Sigma with regard to contrast, shadow detail, CA etc, if I was you I would certainly try and get hold of this little gem before it is dis-continued.
Look on my Photoblog for some shots with the Tokina.

Nice Sysagent ... very nice. I like the house ... lends a "human" touch to the shot. Just an overall good job and equally good eye.
