Have you checked out Fry's / Outpost..? They've recently relaunched their site and have 40Gb drives for $80, 60Gb for $90...
I've no affiliation to them, but I've had good experience there in the past.

Also look for the small external USB drives. They have 2.5" disks in them and can be broken apart real easily. You can pick up the 60G ones fairly cheaply at Staples/OfficeDepot/Best buy/.....
