Humungus,

Why is it that when I think of you I see Shreck? (sp) I don't know who Mark is but, his photos are phenomenal. Very well done.

What i like about the place is that its always almost empty...
Almost empty? That's surprising. It's a beautiful place.

Ta all. It macros well for a little camera but i am starting to think how much crisper a DSLR & marco lens could chop at it.

'gus - Your macros are stunning..... Great eye for color and pattern. You should have been an artist.

I doubt your images will be improved with a different camera much at all. The thought of you wandering around loose on the world with a DSLR is staggering. :D

Some of us try to stay awake to keep you company, but it i IS hard when we have to go to work next morning:D

What city is it that you abide in? It is certainly lovely. Well done 'gus!! :thumb

Tks PF
But what about a DSLR with a 500mm mate :deal

Heres the spot right here PF...

A DSLR is a better choice at 500mm - I agree - but don't forget that you will also need a good tripod to hold that 500 on target. :1drink

I thought you were up in the NorthWest coast for some reason. Brisbane looks lovely. I'll have to read some more about it.

Also remember the minimum focus distance on that 500mm is likely to be 9 feet (mine is)

True...

I will have toplay with that a bit and see what it does to the minimum focus distance. It might be great for butterflies n such. Of course with SINGLE digit temperatures it will be a while before I can find out... :cry

Thanks ian...I like the little camera so much i sometimes wonder if i should fall into the 'bigger will be better' trap. I change my mind daily...so will sit it out for a bit to be sure.

Its a pleasure to use that for sure. I can operate it in full darkness i am so used to it.
'tis a bit chilly out this evening...rode the bike back to work earlier...

Anyway, I think if you go the bigger is better route, your pictures wil be that
much better because you've gained practical experience from that little camera.
