I've done some whipping and it's been a while since I've gotten some. Give me your best shots!

I really like the colors on this shot.
Hard to find a focal point on this shot since it's so busy.
Might try cropping higher. Nothing at the bottom of this shot really helps IMO.
It helps to post the EXIF so ppl can see how you took the shot as well.

I love the color and the simplicity of the single tree as the subject. Really, the subject here is the color, and that works for me. Of course, I'm a sucker for fall color shots.
But, I'm going to agree with SloYerRoll and suggest you not crop off the top of the tree. It feels very constrained. I also think it might be a tad over-sharpened for my taste.

I really like the crop, for some strange reason... I'm usually annoyed with strange crops, but don't have a problem with this one. (It almost feels abstract because of the crop.)
But the color is a bit too bright for me. It feels over the top and a bit more than nature intended... But maybe it's just me since the other two love it! :D
Great shot either way!

Pros:
The colors are great!
The shot is a very nice, simple statement of a beautiful time of yearCons:
Cropping top of tree - distracting
Very difficult to see where the main focus ends and the background begins. The background is just too busy and of a color too similar to the main focus. To improve, maybe find a way to seperate the main tree from the background via angle of perspective, DOF, lighting, that sort of thing.

I agree with photogmomma...The image is WAY:wow too bright for me. However, it could be my monitor settings.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to critique this image. I did intend this to be an abstract image with emphasis on the color. I'll see if I can reprocess this a bit so the colors come through vibrant but not overdone.
I cropped this in-camera so I can't do anything about the top now. I see what you mean about it appearing to be cut off. I'm personally OK with it as it is but I as I study it I think I could have worked the composition some more to get something better.
Thanks again,
Erich
