Couldn't figure out where this should go, but aside from comments like "you need a better background" and "your DOF sucks", which I realize, I'd be interested in your lighting comments. This is one of my first shots with a two-strobe setup. BTW, this is "Magic"

The lighting looks pretty decent for your average portrait. Slightly stronger on one side than the other to give the face shape without being harsh enough to make the features to strong.
Drag the family in there and make em pose.

That's the idea. Actually, I suspect I'm going to be getting a wireless controller setup shortly, so it'll make it easier to do all of us. But in the meantime, I'll drag 'em in one or two at a time...kicking and screaming. I took a few samples of the kids as their mom was trying to get them out the door. Not good enough to post, tho. While the lighting was pretty good, I didn't have enough DOF to cover my daughter in front of my son. Need to stop down a couple next time. But I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I could do that, but then the camera would be missing, cuz I'd be using it and well. Oh, nevermind. I have a spare. :) Sorry...pui monday. It's gonna be a rough freakin' week. Bear with me.
Besides, I know you have a three light setup w/ fancy background. And I must say, I'm a bit cheesed-off you didn't invite me to that party, yff. :flip
Okay, so here's my beginner's setup (just got the stand/umb today):

At the last minute, the no-host became hosted. Which meant toasted :D
Over at the Del Monte Building in Sunnyvale--nice place.
One word. Rental. For the background. One of my co-workers owns (and helped
setup) the lights. But the stands were .... . Almost lost the softbox :D
