Just a continue of the business card thread, but wondered if you folks made your own advertising banners/ads.

For horse photography, I send to tack shops and feed stores, local stores in small communities for their bulletin boards...

So this is the latest one that I have designed...lets see yours please!

I got this one printed out this spring on heavy paper, gloss finish. Got a list of local barns and sent it out... then asked to go to their shows a few weeks later.

Great job! Although the print on lines 2 & 6 doesnt show up well, especially line 2 on A & Pen....make text a bit smaller.

If you guys need printing, I run a printing & promotional company.

Actually, I do need printing work done. Do you guys do shortrun posters? I need 30ish 24x36" or 30"x40" posters relatively soon, then mid November I need 80+ of the same. Send me an email or PM if this is something you can do. I didn't find too much info on it on the website.

Thanks,
Steve

Not to rain on your parade, but before you post that anywhere you need to have model releases since you are using their faces to advertise your business. I know that you took the pictures, but as soon as you start using identifiable people in your advertising you could get into trouble. Either a nasty-gram from a PR person, or their lawyer. Last thing you want is to be on the receiving end of a law suit, especially if those people have a lot more $$$ than you. :rolleyes Same applies to "civilian" pics as soon as you go from editorial to commercial photography the rules change on you. :deal

Unfortunately, that rain can be a downpour, and you're very right. Fortunately I have an umbrella for mine. In the excitement of posting our designs, it was definitely overlooked to mention this. I personally do have releases for everyone on my poster, and everyone that's used for promotion on my site. It's quite the pain having to restrict yourself in this way, but it's certainly better than a lawsuit. It's also not usually a big deal (for me) to obtain a release.

Thanks for pointing this out.

My poster/signboard is Downriver Photography and yes I do have model releases. The American Idols aren't mine.
