Mid-June a took my wife on a surprise get-away to a little resort just north of Tofte, MN on Lake Superior.

The weather was cold, wet, and foggy. Not what I was hoping for, but it did give me the opportunity to shoot in a setting that was new to me.

It seemed regardless of the time of day, there was an interesting composition just waiting for me.

Somebody is having way too much fun with his ultra wide. And it shows! Great shots! I especially like the black and white one, very atmospheric.

Hehe. Yeah I love this lens.
I like the black and white too, except for the dust spots. :\

Thanks. I actually have about 40-50 others, I just never got around to processing and uploading them. One of these days I will.

See ... you don't post card weather for fabulous pictures. I love overcast lighting for close range, intimate micro-scapes and I especially love going out to shoot in the rain and fog. Not eveybody appreciates or sees the value in this type of photography and it often takes a person seveal years to get tired of the cliches and the "rules" that try to define for us what is acceptable as "good photography". When we finally tire of the rules we can then begin to explore more creative avenues.
