This duck couldn't wait for the sun to go down to snatch a snooze.

The reason I like this one is because I took it while piloting a 14-foot skiff out of the cove and onto the main lake. The light was right so I got a nice quick shutter speed (1/1000) at iso 400. 300L f/4 with the 1.4 TC attached, stopped down to f 6.3.

Here's a 75% crop.

Nice pic. Clean.. I love ducks. My grandmother had them outback of her house in FL. We used to feed them dried corn.

The best I could get while bouncing around and drifting by in a small boat.

An hour and a half later on the way back...after the clouds rolled in.

I don't think I'll be doing that any time soon. The 30D isn't waterproof...nor am I.:rofl

Thanks, Harry. :D

The funny thing about this one is that my wife and I were in a little boat...she was sitting in the bow, facing me, and I was piloting the boat and carrying 2 cameras. When I showed her the shot, she said where did you take that at! :rolleyes Gotta love her anyway.

On your duck shot, I would lose the crop. Without the Rock, grass, and wonderful compostion of the original, the cropped duck shot, just shows a sleeping duck. The original capture tells much more of a story.

nice shot.
