its still a nice photo though!!!... although her eye does look a little freaky cause only the white is showing!!!

At least her ear is sharp. Grin. I would try to reshoot... If she is your daughter she is around lots, so moments enough to capture her. She looks like a beautiful girl. Remember that teenagers are like Natives of New Zealand in the last century: they are afraid that their soul is going to die if you take their picture... I'd say: bribe the teenager... there must be something that she or he wants so badly that they are willing to pose...
I have no mindproblems with bribing for that reason.

Sometimes when people move it breaks up the stoicness of a photo. Is stoicness a word, like too stoic? Anyway I never have people just look and smile, I have them think of something. If I am shooting a couple I tell them, "Okay, smile and say 'We never fight.'" Works like a charm.

Here is a pic along those lines, I was chatting with family and everyone was very aware of my camera. My mother got on a good story and I grabbed this shot before she had time to hide from me. One of the best shots of her ever.

I think this is pretty cool, and I bet it looks much more unusual than the shot you planned to take!
