I was wondering if anyone has come up with a way of "automating" the move of Pbase content to Smugmug. I know the boys inthe lab were looking at something a while ago but it seems nothing materialized.
Thanks
John

Hi John,
A good friend of mine tried the basics, got pretty far, and then stalled b/c he ran into roadblocks on the pbase side. I'll check with another one of our hackers to see if he might be able to pick up the work...

I think you might find a lot of people interested in this right now. Without going into details, there are lot of upset pbase users (it's pretty obvious why if you visit their forums). I am not upset with pbase, but I I think that my needs have outgrown pbase, and I am looking into other picture hosting options. I just signed up for a smugmug account today, and have been playing with it.
I'm VERY interested in an automated pbase to smugmug conversion.

Andy -
I don't know if you have heard any word on this, but this is just a bump to see if you have.
In the meantime, I am ATTEMPTING to tackle this problem myself. Please see the following topic on the threads: http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=41813
My attempt was for some quick easy coding, and it has been anything but. It will easily take me weeks to get a working solution for myself, and that is far from being a stable, well testing application with an installer, error trapping, logging, and progress indicators.
If there is a working solution, it would save me MASSIVE amounts of labor.

My picture sites:
http://www.pbase.com/crenner (I've actually put work into these)
http://crenner.smugmug.com (pretty much raw uploads at this time, and none of the pictures or galleries from pbase are duplicated here at this time)
http://nicole.rennerfamily.org (front-end using PHP scripts for my pbase galleries of my daughter - this gives me extra customization, though I have done very little with it at this time)

There is now an alpha version of basetosmug available. See this thread on the forums:
