I like it, too. I do weird effects, too, and I see them in books, have never dared enter one, but I like them, and I like yours.

On a contest level, I do wonder if the shadows show up as well as they might with the intensity of the color. It really looks nice in the small size, and I don't have my viewing area as big as I might. Nice playing, Gubbs.

Well, now that upsets me! And I am trying to flame you, but I can't get the D icon to go there. I kid you not!

Would we flame you? Not!:heh

I'm keen on doing some more of Reading's victorian streets at night, they look very moody especially with the fog we are getting at the moment.

I like the effect but I agree with Ginger. If the challenge is shadows, the shadows in this one play second fiddle to the colorization. And they're not the primary focus of the composition. Really nice shot and effect, but might come up short by the challenge criteria.

Gubbs,

Took me a while to get used to it, then I 'saw the light'! Very ... special!

Great photo Gubbs, I really like it alot... very creative. In my opinion.. it is well within the 'shadows' theme. I really like the lights across the right side of the photo and the fact that there is so much to see.

I really like this photo, Gubbs. For some reason most of your photos make me feel something, whatever that might be.....

At first sight, the shot is wierd. But then it grows on you quickly and now I really like it.

Not sure either, I looked at the GCS and pipe-cleaner examples of andy's where the shadows complement the main subject and thought I'd be OK :dunno
Not getting many shooting opportunities at the moment so I think I'll have to end up going with it.

I think it needs a more precise subject matter. I like the reds a lot. The shadows aren't terribly strong and they seem a bit muddled. Perhaps a strong shadow of one interesting ornament, or something like that?
