I have made my own ionizer to clean the sensor but it does not seem to work.
As discribed in the link herewith I tested with a scotch tape

But the result doesn't look very good.
What am I doing wronge ?
Can you give me tip please ?
Thank you. :thumb

Looks like a good idea, but from reading that page my thoughts are that it cannot deal with stuck dust. So those last bits probably need to be swabbed off.

Thank you Nikolai.
The spots are not very jarge. I can leave with them. I mean, my photography can :D
The hair (?) on the bottom right is a little problem.
I am going to take it away.
Let me ask you: Why have you bought a 30D when you had already the 20D?
Does the 30D means any improvement ?
If you would have bought the 5D I could understand... In this case I was asking you: How about it ? :thumb
Yes. Not of my business. OK :D

Nice week end

Use the hand blower first and see if it helps. Bright LCD flashlight and UV light also help to get an instant visual assessment of the surface without going through the whole test shot routine.

In a few words - yes. For me, it does.

If I had enough (photographic) funds, I'd buy 5D the moment it came out. Eventually I will (or whatever FF solution would be on the market by the time:-). Right now - I simply can't afford it, how sad that is :dunno

Nice week end
Same to you, amigo mio!

:thumbI was afraid to swab the sensor the first time I did it. Turns out that there's not much to worry about. Just make sure that your swap is scrupulously (meticulously) so you don't scratch the IR filter (which is glass, BTW) with a bit of grit. I've done it a couple of times and taught my brother how to do it as well. Not a big deal. There's a long thread in the Hall of Wisdom on how to do it and all the pros and cons.

Good. :thumbEverything's fine. I've just been busier than a one-armed paper hanger. (A paper-hanger is a person who applies wallpaper to indoor wall, interior decorator. Imagine trying glue wall paper to a wall with only one arm/hand.)

If you are heathy - and I think you are, what is good - and busy as a one-armed paper hanger I am not sorry for you.:)::):
Thank for the kind explanation. It was a good ideia to explain, otherway I wouldn't understand. :D
Get some time to be here.

I thought everyone knew that cliche. :)
Swabbing the sensor is scary the first time, but with care it's no big deal. I use the Copper Hill kit & read through all their instructions carefully. Run a google & you'll find him (IIRC it's a pbase site).

"I'm busier than a one-legged Riverdancer."
"I was busier than a beaver in a coffee lake."
"I’ve been busier than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs."
"Busier than a mosquito at a nudist camp."

Great post! I can just see the mosquito. "oohh, oohh, where to start?!" Brings to mind another cliche: a target rich environment.
