and seriously, I would wait for BWG like Andy suggested. The way you have implemented both slideshows, they are both always running on every page on your site, even though u can't see them.
This will lead to an unfavourable user experience especially for anyone on dial up.
Cheers,
David

dev, can she use a variation of MY slideshow (footer) code? I have one on homepage and one on gear page... Remember the whole "loading" conversation you had w/ BWG?

anthony,
yes, I remember the conversation...BWG and myself have a difference of option when it comes to a certain matter, so I am going to leave it up to him to sort out.
But, yes a similar style that has been deployed on your site will work here.

not trying to stir the pot. I just wanted to check before giving her any code to try to adapt... I think I'll leave it for BWG...
you did a pretty good job Heather...just a few small things.

we have a difference of opinion too.
And for the record, i am right. There is no way a european swallow could carry a coconut by the husk. Even if two of them tethered it with a string.

BWG... I noticed that you replaced the isClass code with YD.hasClass

Thanks

it's not any better or any worse, but it's part of an API that is now available on all SM pages now.
so in time, my isClass function will disappear.
You will notice in most of my new hacks, you will see me using the new one.

isClass is a function that u have in your code, as long as it remains there it will work. ie search for "function isClass()"
The reason we are moving away from it, there is no reason for people to define a function if one already exists, just trying to optimise the code.

I think so.. give it a try... use FF WD so you can change and see instantly...

while the slideshow was called twice on every page, it only ever ran on the homepage and the favorites page because only those two pages had the elementId's referenced in the script.
your suggested "enhancement" would have had no effect.
:beer
an african swallow, maybe.
