I want to Customize my own webpage...need help!

I am not very "web" savvy. I am great at surfing it but once it come to CSS and HTML.... and creating them myself, I am lost :huh !!!

I am trying to make my website elegant, simple and easy to navigate. An example that I like is www.emphoto.com (http://www.emphoto.com)

Is there anyone out there that can help me do something similar?
