I wanted to show everone some recent pictures that I took on a long weekend trip to Colorado. These animals were taken in a variety of locations, from Garden of the Gods, to the Seven Falls, to the famous Royal Gorge, and all the way at the top of Pikes Peak.

These were all taken with my 70-200 F4 L.

Hope you enjoy looking at them. Please check out my new PBase site also at www.pbase.com/wesstewart (http://www.pbase.com/wesstewart) I have many other photos on it already with plans of uploading more.

The first four are a wild mule deer that actually made me kinda nervous. I was snapping away and it just kept coming closer and closer, almost oblivious of my presence. The first of these photos was shot at 78mm!

There were an abundance of bighorn sheep on Pikes Peak. I was able to take pictures from several different small herds. These were some of my favorites. The little ones were oh-so-cute.

There were a few mountain goats, but I was only able to get close enough to this one to take a few shots. It seemed pretty content to let my shoot away.

The marmot was another furry critter that seemed to dominate the Peak. Here are two snapshots that turned out pretty well. I especially liked the colors of the setting sun in photo 13.

Last but not least are some random shots of various critters. I really liked the colors of the rabbit, again taken in the setting sun. I was also impressed at the depth of field in the chipmunk shot. That little guy was pretty friendly!

Good work.
The rabit is a little bit red is it not ?
In other words: there is a red cast in the rabit's photo.

A very nice series. I too like the rabbit, I love those few minutes during the setting of the sun when everything around you takes on a red glow. Makes me think of one those warm balmy evenings when it's great to be outdoors.
