Welcome to DGrin, I like the lighting, alittle soft and two centered but the lighting looks good and so does the background. :thumb

thank you ;)
It a first pic out of the whole shoot, I'll come back tomorrow with a "real" process : I've had to edit the image on my 12" laptop, this ain't the best... :scratch

Welcome to d-grin! :wave
What lighting did you use? Normally, I wouldn't like everything going on in the background for a posed shot...but, this works.

Hi,
well, I didn't use much gear :
Just my sb800 and an ombrella on the left, link to my camera with a synch cable. This all go through my sekonic flashmate (L308 or something like that) which I've used to determine a correct aperture.
I think the flash power was something like 1/2 or 1/1.
By the way : I'm not really into "luxurious" background either, I mean: for a portrait so, in fact, this is why I use the flash that way, underexposing the background. :thumb
Anyway, the suburban environment was really important for that portrait.
This is France but one can feel the american suburb's influence :D

Here is how I lighted up the whole thing (http://antoinedoyen.net/2006/08/21/162-suburb/).
Don't hesitate to correct me if my English is wrong.
