I love the expression of the construction worker and the bartender!

Rutt, that first shot has everything I like in street shots. A background to present the atmosphere, nice lines in the construction going up and the windows and staircases in the background, a fantastic expression on the worker and some nice light in his face. Boy, do I like that one.

Rutt,
Great work! Excellent composition and lighting and exposure. Expressions and actions are wonderful. Low angle gives the people great power.
I love that the shots are intimate enough to show individual features, and yet enough surroundings to tell the story.
Good stuff!

That construction worker shot is realy nice. The shallow dof really works there.

I really like the first one - great composition, contrast, subject. And the second one is just hilarious. Nice work.

The first one really grabs me, Rutt. The exposure and light are, um, picture perfect. :lol3 The DOF works really well.
I also really like the story in monkey man, just wish nature had been kinder and given you better light for his face.
Nice stuff!

I love the first shot. Just perfect.
As for the Sushi Tomi... Is it the one in Mountain View, CA? If so, you were in my neck of the woods and I have to agree that it's a wonderful place.

The first shot is absolutely top notch.:clap
See no evil comes close second but would work better if the man had a more distinct expression.
Last two are really just candids.

I like them all, but my favorites are the construction worker and the sushi guy. It looks like the bartender has a cut lip or someting is hanging there. Could you have used to healing brush to get rid of it?
This is a great series and educational. I'm out the door to do some candids. Thanks for sharing.

Rutt,
I agree that the first one is the winner. I love the colors in it. Very natural and believable.
The next two are nice, but the 2nd has a cyan cast, which is particularly unflattering in the skin tones, and the 3rd has some worse problems in the skin, most likely you've done a lot of recovering from poor lighting, but in the end it's not enough.
The last one bores me.
