I did a cname using http://galleries.jburtphotos.com pointing to my smugmug site http://jburtphotos.smugmug.com.
It links just fine only instead of galleries.jburtphotos.com coming up as the URL in my browser, it still reads jburtphotos.smugmug.com. Is there something I need to fix?
BTW: I'm using Firefox and it shows the same in IE6

You have not properly CNAME Aliased your domain name, galleries.jburtphotos.com is hitting IP address 206.123.68.106 which is NOT our IP address. So, you are using domain forwarding, not CNAME. Who's your provider, I can help.

Thanks for the quick answer.
My domain is registered at GoDaddy and hosted at Dynamicwebspace. I just went into my control panel and see that it is indeed not done. I must have misread the admin list as this one is just above my other cnames. I will have to contact them and see what happened. This was supposed to be done months ago.
Is it correct to aim my galleries.jburtphotos.com @ jburtphotos.smugmug.com?
Or should I set it up differently.

Andy, it looks like I am going to need your help if possible.
It seems GoDaddy claims they can't do a CNAME for my account thru my host.
(It was there yesterday misspelled but has since been removed)
Here is what I'm trying to do:
Point galleries.jburtphotos.com to jburtphotos.smugmug.com.
GoDaddy is my registrar and dynamicwebspace.com is my host.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Send your login and pw to godaddy, along with your domain name info, and we'll get it sorted for you. Do not post that info here.
