So yesterday was a big day for me, I bought myself my first dSLR, a 30d. :clap
I've used SLR before, and p&s, but this is new for me. It was already
late by the time I got home with it, and it was starting to get dark, so not
alot I could do, but read the manual and play around a bit.

Today I went to visit one of the camp-locations of a company I work for.
Of course I could not leave home without my new toy.

Both shot with a 50mm, no post except for a little USM.

Congratulations. 30d is a brilliant tool.
I like the first photo but I would crop it as a square so the bottom is cropped just after his feet. That would bring more foxus to the photograph.

You're in for tons of fun, Ivar. And it looks like the kids are into it too. Congratulations on your new camera!

Congrats on the new toy, I sure love mine.

The first pic is a keeper and I agree with Ted, crop 4 x 5 and lose the bottom. The lime green really works with the boys hair and skin tones.

Is it an improvement?

Yeah, I think this is much improved. I would be quite happy with this shot.:clapThanks Scott, i agree with the crop, it's better than the original. I am quite happy with the shot actually, especially since it was taken on the first day i shot with the camera, i like to call it beginners-luck though...
