Welcome aboard! We need another Minnesotan, and especially one with as much talent as you exhibit. Are you ready for 5 months of monochrome? Can anyone really be ready for that? BTW, I think 5 months may be a little
optimistic.:D
What part of the state are you from?
Here's a pic from early on with the D Rebel. (I just like posting pics)
ISO 400, Shutter 25 sec, Aperture F36, taken with the Kit lens.

I REALLY like the corn stubble shot. We have a bit of that here in the flatlands too, but this shot makes something I see all the time manage to be... interesting. Nice work.

Nice pictures. For some odd reason I never think of St. Paul as a city with bright lights. I always think of ice fishing... I probably watched too much american movies. (Beautiful girls)
I love the star effect you have in your earlier picture. For 400 ASA you have no noise at all. Splendid.
BTW, is there a good way to remove noise???

I used photoshop 5.5 and noise ninja to get the photos to were they are today.
Thanks for looking. dave v

This program is just simply awesome for removing noise from images without effecting the detain in the image. I started out using the free demo version of this program which is available for download on the site. Lets just say that I like this program so much that I bought the full blown version for around $78 because of what it is capable of. The demo version is only capable of handling 8 bit JPG's which isnt too bad. What I did prior to obtaining photoshop CS was to do everything that I wanted to do to an image until I thought it was at the completed stage and ready for posting to smugmug and then run that version through neatimage. There are many different versions of this program all can handle different types of images. I bought the full blown version because it has a photoshop plugin and can handle 16 bit tiff's. So now I dont even need to leave photoshop to use neatimage because it is an action within photoshop. If you do try this out I highly suggest reading the instructions for use available on the web site and not just messing around with it until you figure it out like I did. I wasted alot of time because the instructions walk you through it.
Hope this wasnt too long, I just love that program.

Thanks Davy and Mike... Mike, most appreciated for giving me that link.
I have a whole batch of pics I took on Hoover Dam last year, accidently shot at 800 asa, and the noise is killing the pics. Maybe I will be able to save some of them...
Thanks you guys.

Great shot of St. Paul from the river. I too live in the Twin Cities area but I can't find this location. Where is it exactly?
