No. I have 40 frames that are almost equal. The other shot has the beak open.
Thanks. :D

I wish everyone would use their name, instead of a handle, like we do. Makes life a little easier. :nod

We have one runway at work closed so been working 6-7 days a week
Closed runway means we lose lots of money every day and its been closed all summer (90 days)
Work,work,work makes Fred a dull boy :D
Killdeer dance
If you get close to the nest the mother takes off in a different direction away from the nest.
Then she acts like she has a broken wing it's really a wild show.
When you get close to her she then takes to the air
If you get close to the nest again it starts all over again
Also not sure of the term but the babies hatch out pretty much an small version of the adult
They can't fly but they are not helpless like other baby birds
Those little guys can run like a deer

I know...just past the range of a 300mm lens!
For some reason while I was in my vehicle they didn't feel the need to flee.:dunno
Hope the work situation get ironed out. :nod
Thanks for the info, Fred. :thumb

the term is precocious. some birds can fly almost right away like the megapods

I didn't really know the meaning of that word till now!
I always assumed it meant mischievous or "general pain in the ass".:rofl

I forgot to ask...Where do they like to build their nests?
Another beauty!
You really got nice light to help bring out the details in the feathers.
I have some shots of the nest, they nest on the ground, often in gravel. I'll post them up for you.

Thanks very much, Lisa. :D
As with most good bird shots a little (or a lot) of luck is essential. :nod
This is with no doubt the best bird shot I have ever taken. Now that I know what is possible, I guess I'll just have to try harder or be lucky again...'cause I want MORE!
