It's a good techinque your son is using to try to capture you but I think he was a split second too late or early.
I know photographers try to make subjects at peace by talking to them and trying to snap their natural relaxed expressions.
The first one is fine, but the second one looks like you are half way to talking or some such thing.
Have they been altered any?
