During my college days I used to do a bunch of storm chasing. It began as a project for a meteorology course but the thrill got me hooked and I began taking storm photos. Well... I just got a new dSLR and a storm decided to cooperate with me. Last night (July 18th) PA was rocked by severe T-Storms and I took some pics....

The lightning photos themselves aren't all that great. I am still learning the camera and my shooting shelter (very important for ground zero photography of lightning) was obscured by powerlines but lightning photos are always kool no matter what! :):

I was in this storm . . . in a Subway restaurant in Lancaster, PA. Nasty storm. I was about ready to climb under a table.

Didn't have a camera with me. :cry

Cool shots!

Thanks folks!
I really love taking lightning photos and as the summer wears on I'll be sure to share more.

I wrote a little diddy on how to take lightning photos in STLMach1's Lightning thread. Take a look, it might prove useful... especially the parts where I say "STAY SAFE!!" LOL :rofl
